Breakthrough is played on one of the following boards and setups:
Regular Breakthrough to the left, Mini variant in the middle and Siege variant to the right.
Players take turn to their one step closer towards the opponent base, orthogonally or diagonally. Diagonal moves can capture by replacement, except in the Siege variant where it is orthogonal moves that capture.
First to have a reach the opponent base wins!
