Kick & run rules

Kick & run is played on a 5×5 board with the following setup:

Players have home bases in opposite corners, and take turn to a or .

  • move orthogonally towards the opponent base to an empty square, or captures by stepping northwest or southeast.
  • slides any number of empty squares in any direction that brings it closer to the enemy base.

To the left b3 can step to b4 or c3, or sidekick c2 !

To the right you see the valid moves for d5 . It can't go to e4 since that isn't closer to the Player 1 base.

A player wins by

  • moving a into the opponent base
  • stalemating the opponent
