Ambivalente rules

Ambivalente is played on an initially empty 6×6 board.

Players take turn to place on an empty square, until the board is filled.

A newly placed can turn adjacent opponents into in two ways:

  • intrusion: If placed between two opponents, on a single line, those opponents are neutralised
  • encircling: If an opponent is now surrounded on two sides, on a single line, that opponent is neutralised

Multiple simultaneous neutralisations are possible.

Here Player 2 places b2 , neutralising b1 , b3 and c2 .
A B C D E 1 2 3 4
A B C D E 1 2 3 4

To prevent the corner squares from being invulnerable, intrusion and encircling happens at a 90° angle instead of a line for them.

Below Player 1 places a1 , neutralising a2 and b1 through a corner intrusion.
A B C D E 1 2 3
A B C D E 1 2 3
And here is an example of a corner encircling where Player 2 places f2 to neutralise f1 .
B C D E F 1 2 3
B C D E F 1 2 3

When the board is full, the player with the most wins!
